Dining style

Totally loving this look at the moment.

Dining tables with NON matching chairs
I found these white crossback chairs on sale at

a nice little french provincial touch!!!

Source The house that AM built

I like either of these looks, it probably helps that I also love the pendant lights in each image as well.
I love these tolix style chairs for adding an idustrial edge.

OH THE STYLE CHOICES.......

This is my every day dining table & chairs, all matching, purchased as a set.
Now I realise there is nothing wrong with that, but you seem to get a more homely feel when you mix things up a bit.
All of this matching furniture throughout my house makes it a little boring & doesn't evoke the feeling I am looking for.

I would be more than happy to keep my table, but I would love to get some new chairs when we get in the dream house.
The issue will be, making a decision on the perfect style at the time!!!

This is what I refer to as my FORMAL dining table & chairs, which has been in storage for the past 4 years.I have always loved it, but am thinking it may need a little jazz up as well.
Whether we recover the chairs in a more sophisticated fabric or perhaps add a nailhead trim.
Any suggestions????

I would love some beautiful tufted dining chairs, I wonder if mine can be reupholstered to look like this?????

Unfortunately it wont be in the budget to replace all of our furniture, we will be able to add a few new bits & pieces & certainly dress things up with some accessories.

Pinned Image

We are planning timber floors & some wainscotting.
This image above is our inspiration for style & colour.

I think my furniture will look fine in this setting, I just need a few key pieces to complete the look & maybe some mini make overs, like nailhead trims or painting over some timber pieces, just to take away that matchy matchy furniture store look!!!

Perhaps I need to start learning to upholster, I have plans for tufted ottomans & benches, but thats a whole other post.

What do you think, should everything match or should we be mixing it up more to achieve a warm, homely feel?

Coastal Style

Source BHG

Is this just a perfect space to relax in or what???

I love it!

The colour scheme is perfect, a relaxed coastal style is always so inviting. Don't you just love the oars in the corner. I wonder if it would look as good without the two vases with leaves in them, they really do lift the room, don't you think?

Beach house dreaming

Stunning!

Surf Road House 11 traditional living room

I love this ceiling, the soft blue really oozes style & charm...
(not so sure I could live with the ceiling fan)
This living room is definately inviting, the colour scheme is so soothing
I think we should sneek up that gorgeous staircase that is peeking out of the corner & see what eye candy lives upstairs

What can I say.....
Location Location Location!!

I read quotes from designers about choosing colour & using the palette that mother nature provides us with...Bringing the outdoors in.
I have to say it really is spot on in this beach house.
Blues from the ocean & sky, white from the clouds & white caps of the waves & then of course the sand colours used throughout  give a serene, calm & soothing feel amongst the architectural details.
This house is finished to perfection.
The furniture, lighting & architectural details  all work togethor to give a relaxed WOW experience to anyone that walks in the door!

What do you think, is this a dream house for you too?

Every where you look you see these fabulous blinds.
I have always loved Roman shades & I am seriously falling for them made from natural materials such as bamboo & sea grass.
A great way to add a little extra warmth into a room.
They also suit a range of decor styles & are budget friendly!!

Don't you just love them!

Dining Dilema

I was in one of my favourite stores on the weekend, 1825 interiors. & I fell in love with this gorgeous chair.
I have been walking around scratching my head, trying to work out how & where I could fit this into my dream home .
Alexander Chair $249.00
They also have another similar chair with a more open style weave called a "Löve" chair & its in a darker, richer brown,  but I couldn't find a picture of it!

Then I purchased my all time favourite mag "Home Beautiful", & there it was...the perfect inspiration pic!!!

For me this house just says it all, they have the same colour scheme I have chosen for my dream house, inside & out, the same style of kitchen I am opting to have installed. You just have to adore Shaker style cabinets & subway tiles in a kitchen ,& there they are, those lovely chairs flanking the family dinner table.
Perhaps its destiny!!!!

I am having tile floors rather than timber, thanks to the evil budget, but I'm sure tiles will look fantastic.

Now I will apologize for the quality of my photography, but this is my current table,it seats eight & I think it would be nice with 3 Alexander chairs each side. The table is about 6yrs old & in great shape, I really love it, so, wont be replacing it anytime soon.

Every where you go timber furniture has a different name for the stain, but I guess it is close to a maple stain...

I have wanted to change out these chairs for a while, but never knew what style I was looking for. There is also the budget factor, how do you convince your dream guy that you would like to replace these perfectly good, "matching chairs", with something new, he would much rather buy a boat.... & don't forget the kid factor, they do drop food on these chairs everyday!

Does anyone have chairs like this at the family dinner table & do they stand up to the wear & tear of children?
I guess the most important question is...

Would they look okay with my table?

Please , my stylish friends, what do you think, should I add these babies to my ever growing wish list, I would of course throw in a few matching baskets to link the style of the chairs to the rest of the room...
Some style advice PLEEEEASE !!
