Do you have this must have accessory for displaying fresh flowers?

It doesn't matter where you look, whether its in home wares stores, on blogs or Pinterest everyone is getting on the band wagon & popping their flowers in one of these........

That's right, a simple white jug

It really doesn't matter what your decorating style is, there is a white jug to suit your home

They can be accessorised to create  the feeling/style vignette you are searching for.

Love this plantation styling with the over sized leaves

They look stunning as a stand alone piece, after all the flowers are a statement in themselves don't you think!

Add some babies breath & you have a stunning yet affordable centre piece for your next dinner party

Along side a noticeboard & clock, looking very french country, a great way to make the family command centre look pretty whilst being practical

They are a fantastic way to store your fresh herbs in the kitchen, I often store basil in mine which creates a lovely aroma & always looks fantastic next to my wooden chopping boards & a bowl full of home grown chillies. I will have to remember to take a photo next time & share with you.
Probably keep an eye on my Instagram for this!!

or even grow some herbs in one....

I love the warmth of rustic farmhouse styling

If soft industrial is how you are decorating at your house then perhaps a collection of jugs on display like this is just the inspiration you need.
Don't get me started on how much i love a blackboard wall, that's a whole other post.

Now we stock this cute little white flower jug in our store for just $15.40

and if you would like to recreate the family command centre next to your noticeboard we can also help you out with this cute little clock. Its the last one left so is on SALE for just $34.

So have you got a white jug yet or even a collection of different styles. That is what I am working towards.

Dream house Kitchen Design

Like in most homes the kitchen really is the heart of the home & this is something that was very much on my mind when it came to planning the kitchen for the dream house.
It will be the most used room in the house so it needs to be functional, spacious, easy to keep clean but  also stylish & welcoming all at the same time.....Lets hope I am able to achieve all of the above!!!

I do apologise for the poor iphone images, I was experiencing a few technical difficulties but couldn't wait to share them with you.

Im loving the island, the space on the left is for the microwave, an appliance I can't live without, but one that I would like hidden from view.

We will be having a french door style fridge.

This image is so small its probably a waste of time putting it on here, I promise I will show you a better image of this plan when I have these issues sorted out!!!

These are the inspiration pics I gave to the Terry from

they are all from my pinterest board of course!

He then designed the kitchen that I had pictured in my head.
The concealed rangehood, small glass display cupboards above the overhead cupboards & a nice simple island for my family to sit at.
This should all compliment the rest of the dream house decor perfectly!

I am so happy with the design, I cant wait to see it built.
It goes without saying that all of the cabinetry will be white & my bench tops will be
20mm thick Quantum Quartz in Carrara
It looks very similar to Carrara marble.
I would love to have the real thing but it just isnt practical in my home. My kids spill things all of the time & because marble is so absorbant the stains would be horrendous, something I don't think I could live with, so....
I shall have to fake it.
I really don't mind though, the quantum quartz is a fantastic hard wearing product & it looks fabulous as well.
You can check out the range of colours on the website

These images are from  the Planit Kitchen gallery, as you can see the quality of their work is fantastic

I work for a building company & we only use Planit Kitchens in our homes.

Love this pantry!!

Planit Kitchens are based on The NSW Central Coast, they have a show room in Erina, look them up if you are planning a new kitchen.

I am also using these guys for my bathroom vanities & laundry fit out which I will share with you in another post.

Im looking forward to your thoughts & suggestions.

Don't forget that now google reader has gone you need to start following me with Bloglovin which is over on my side bar!

Decorating in Blue & White

Im loving all of the blue & white ginger jars, plates bowl & lamps everyone is using in their vignettes of late.

This is a true classic style when it comes to decorating, a trend that never fades.

Its definately nothing new & i certainly don't beleive its ever going to be old or
"so last year!"

Adding a few pieces of coral or a beautiful but sizeable sea shell gives a stylish coastal theme

Add some flowers & you can completey change the look again

I especially love orchids for a more formal style

Shabby chic anyone.....

Whether you are looking for an oriental style pattern

or a simple floral design, the end result is still the same....beautiful!!

Cup of tea anyone ?

As you can see, this is a very versatile decorating style that gives you the option of changing up your decor depending on the look & feel you are after
Coastal, country, formal or casual.

I will definately be seeking the perfect pieces for the dream house decor when it comes time to do the fun stuff....decorating!!!!

Do you have a fabulous blue & white ginger jar or an orchid in a planter pot, a tea pot would make a fabulous addition, don't you think ????

Dining style

Totally loving this look at the moment.

Source Lily G

Dining tables with NON matching chairs
I found these white crossback chairs on sale at

a nice little french provincial touch!!!

Source The house that AM built

I like either of these looks, it probably helps that I also love the pendant lights in each image as well.
I love these tolix style chairs for adding an idustrial edge.

OH THE STYLE CHOICES.......

This is my every day dining table & chairs, all matching, purchased as a set.
Now I realise there is nothing wrong with that, but you seem to get a more homely feel when you mix things up a bit.
All of this matching furniture throughout my house makes it a little boring & doesn't evoke the feeling I am looking for.

I would be more than happy to keep my table, but I would love to get some new chairs when we get in the dream house.
The issue will be, making a decision on the perfect style at the time!!!

This is what I refer to as my FORMAL dining table & chairs, which has been in storage for the past 4 years.I have always loved it, but am thinking it may need a little jazz up as well.
Whether we recover the chairs in a more sophisticated fabric or perhaps add a nailhead trim.
Any suggestions????

I would love some beautiful tufted dining chairs, I wonder if mine can be reupholstered to look like this?????

Unfortunately it wont be in the budget to replace all of our furniture, we will be able to add a few new bits & pieces & certainly dress things up with some accessories.

Pinned Image

We are planning timber floors & some wainscotting.
This image above is our inspiration for style & colour.

I think my furniture will look fine in this setting, I just need a few key pieces to complete the look & maybe some mini make overs, like nailhead trims or painting over some timber pieces, just to take away that matchy matchy furniture store look!!!

Perhaps I need to start learning to upholster, I have plans for tufted ottomans & benches, but thats a whole other post.

What do you think, should everything match or should we be mixing it up more to achieve a warm, homely feel?

Bold bathing

I'm not usually one to be drawn to bold colour schemes, but when a lovely rich colour is partnered with a nice  crisp, clean, white...

Well, whats not to love!!!

The bathroom would have to be the perfect room to achieve such a stunning finish.

I am seriously in love with that gorgeous vanity in this second image.

What do you think?

Lounging around in luxury

Image via cottage & vine

I love to see beautiful white chairs & sofas.
They look fantastic in this ink blue room don't you think?

Image via Decorpad

I am assuming this lovely chair is in a bedroom being located near that gorgeous mirrored dresser.
I can only imagine how glamorous the rest of the room must be. I expect it is very formal  due to the symmetry in the lamps & the grouping of art on the wall, but I think it would be a rather romantic space as well looking at the pretty mirror over the dresser.
How does your imagination recreate the rest of this room?
I am visualising a tufted bed head & plush white bedding!

Image via Decorpad

I dream of one day owning an ottoman like this one, only not in white.
My family & white would never work well together, he he he!!!

I certainly wouldn't say I lounge in luxury but were not to shabby here either.

Oh that's right, I am not meant to be lounging at all, I am meant to be exercising.
Catch you all later.
I am off to honour my new years goal to exercise consistently.
 So far, so good.
I have been working out 3 x a week & next week I plan to up the ante to 4 x a week.
I will be a yummy mummy before we know it.
YAY!!!!

How are you going with your goals, are you still on track?
