Blue for a cure Part2

Recently my eldest daughter signed up for the Leukemia foundations fundraiser called
"Shave for a cure"

You can shave, wax or colour your hair to raise funds for cancer research.

I usually refer to her as "dream child No4", but her name is actually Geordie & she  has coloured  her hair Blue today!

The before shot, she has shaved one side of her head

The middle of the process, her hair had to be bleached blonde before it would go blue.

and the after shot.....after 2 applications of blue, as apparently her ends went a little green!!!

Its not to late to sponsor her if you have a passion for this cause.
Just pop by

So proud of my gorgeous girl for doing something for such a worthy cause!

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!!!

A change is well overdue

Source BHG

I don't know about you, but even though the Zebra rug has been done to death over the past couple of years, I still love it!!!

I think by the time I get my dream house the trend will have well & truly passed me by & I will miss out on having one for myself,
BUMMER!!!

I'm sure there will be an equally divine new trend to sooth my decorating soul!!

After 2yrs of having 4 properties listed for sale in the one town, all with good tenants and priced competitively for the local market, you would think at least something would have sold by now.
But we haven't managed to sell a single house.....

I think we need to change our real estate agent.
Property data tells us that the average time a house is on the market in Lithgow is FIVE MONTHS. Its a small town & we have had FOUR on the market for TWO years.
WHAT THE.......

What do you think, are we trusting fools that should have swapped agents at least a year ago?

Coastal Style

Source BHG

Is this just a perfect space to relax in or what???

I love it!

The colour scheme is perfect, a relaxed coastal style is always so inviting. Don't you just love the oars in the corner. I wonder if it would look as good without the two vases with leaves in them, they really do lift the room, don't you think?

Blue for a cure

On the 30th of March 2012 the beautiful dream child No 4 is going to participate in one of Australia's greatest fundraisers
In case you haven't heard about it,
The worlds greatest Shave is where people gain sponsorship to either shave, wax or colour their hair to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation, to help with their ongoing support of people with blood cancer.
My fabulous daughter is going to colour her gorgeous long locks
 BRIGHT BLUE!!!!

I don't appear to have a pic to show you just how long her hair has gotten, but as you can see it is very dark  & in order to go bright blue it will need to be bleached right up to BLONDE....eek!!!
You can see some tiny snippets of blue foiled into her fringe in this pic, but her hair will become brighter than that all over her head.
I'm very proud of her for joining in on such a fantastic cause!!
If anyone is interested in sponsoring her  all you need to do is pop by
Your support will be greatly appreciated!
She is hoping to raise a minimum of $1000
I'm not actually doing her hair as she lives 4 hours away but a family friend who is also a hairdresser is undertaking this humongous colour task. Geordie or dream child No 4 as you all know her has about 3 times the amount of hair compared to the average person, its super thick & reasonably long, although I imagine a lot of it will need to be cut off after such radical bleaching session.
As they say on TV
" Don't try this at home folks!"
If your natural hair colour is only 2 shades off being black, you are not meant to be blonde or blue for that matter!!!
I will keep you posted on how she goes & of course some lovely photo's of the end result.
Have you ever shaved or coloured your hair in the name of fundraising?

Time is running away

These photo's of my dogs really have nothing to do with this post, they're are just cute & whats a post without a pic...
I have recently started a NEW second job, I still work one or two days a week at the hairdressing salon, but I have also picked up another job working two or three days a week as a new home guide with
I get to be that lovely smiling lady that greets you when you go to look thru a display home.

Life has certainly gotten a little more hectic at home which I don't mind, I just need to get into a new routine so I can fit in all of the fun stuff, you know, like
BLOGGING!!!
I have also been a bit slack on keeping up with my photography & exercise, but once the dust settles & I get definite workdays sorted out, I will be much more consistent about these things.

I hope to catch up with everyone more often from here on in!

Any tips on how to juggle it all successfully would certainly be appreciated, how do you manage motherhood, housework & a career & still make time for the things you love?

Have a fantastic week bloggers!!

Inspirational Entertaining Designs

We have an open plan kitchen, meals, living area in the dream house.
I have been seeking inspiration as well as drawing up a few sketches to try & make the whole TV & computer nook fit nicely into the decor without being to much of an eyesore.

Normally I would just shove the computers off into another room keeping it all out of view, but because we have young children  & they learn to be so technology savvy through school these days, I really want the computer to be where I am able some form of watchful eye peeking over their shoulder reguarly, so the main living space it is!!!

I think if the joinery is the same style as the kitchen & there are plenty of doors to hide the unattractive but necessary stuff ,as well as some open shelving to create a few vignettes , adding some style, I might just get away with it....
That is if I can NAG teach my kids to keep things tidy!!!

I love this idea from BDG style, simple yet stylish, dont you think?

Not to mention that the colour scheme is also right up my alley.

Do you have any fabulous suggestions or ideas from your own home you can share with me?
